Hello to all former Trooper of Bad Hersfeld. And a ,,big thanks,, To Gaither to let me post this message. I'm planning to open up a Tour and Town guide service this year, especially for American people. I was born and grew up in Bad Hersfeld, and my Dad was stationed from 1965-1968 in Bad Hersfeld so I really know all places. I just want to find out if there would be anybody interested in a service like that. We even could help with Hotels, even around Frankfurt and we would pick you up from the Airport. Please contact me and tell me, what you think about a service like that. Oh, you even could ask Gaither Deitz he had my service last year during his time at the reunion in Bad Hersfeld. Hey Hampton, do you remember Jubleau's wife? She was quite a knockout, with red hair, etc. The school put on a ski trip every Dec for the kids to go to Bavaria and learn to ski. Usually a couple of Joes would be recruited to come along and help. Anyway, one year, before I was old enough to go (my bro and sis were old enough so they went), my parents drove down to Seeg (Bavaria) in a caravan with other parents to kinda hang out with the school group. For some reason, Mrs. Jubleau hitched a ride with us. She sat in the backseat of our Gremlin with me on one side and Shawn Brincefield on the other, and she slept with a full mug of steaming coffee in her hand. I kept waiting for the coffee to spill on me. That is one of the 3 things I will always remember about her...the other two things I cannot say here in this family environment. The Jubleaus also had a baby named "Dallas"....thanks for giving me a little push down memory road (again), Hampton. Much obliged.... Hey Greg, everybody remembers "Snack Bar" Stables. LOL! I remember SFC Vischer and SSG Schumacher, and SGT Taylor, too. Schumacher was a friend of mine. Seems I remember the First Sergeant being 1SG Rojas around the time you were there in '77-78 and the Troop Commander was CPT Jubleau. I was wondering if you knew Jim Braden. He was originally from Kansas and was injured in an automobile accident sometime after '77 or '78. Great pictures...I was 3/11th K troop our troop was in the HQ building with the clock on top. Ltc Rios was Squadron commander...I pcs'd in February 1993 and rumors were going around the McPheeters was closing...heard it all the time in Hersfeld downtown fromt the Germans. Funny...Ltc Rios gave a Squadron speech in the gym one day that the 11th ACR wasnt going anywhere nor McPheeters Barracks...LOL...low and behold I was stationed at Ft. Polk and heard about it! Damn! Man thanks again for the walk down memory lane. I saw a couple of familar face in some of the photos from 77-80 period. gonna dig thru old photos and see what i have Hey Hamton I was assigned to I trp Sfc Visher was my platoon Sgt. Was 1sg Legaspi(?) Ssg Shmacher was section leader. sgt Taylor was mortor sgt. Did first border tour days after getting there. Had a couple of drunk nites at some of those spots.LLLLLMAO

I was stationed in Bad Hersfeld in 1971-1972. I was in M Troop, 3rd Squadron, 14th Armored Cavelry. When I first arrived I was assigned to drive the commanding officers jeep. I was later assigned as a TAMS Clerk at the Motor Pool and finally for most of my time I was the Troop Clerk. My rank was SP5. At that time Joseph B. Morgan was the commanding officer. I would really like to hear from anyone else who served in M Troop at that time. Ronald W. Hoover are you out there somewhere.
