Welcome to The 3rd Squadron 14th/11th Armored Cavalry Site

I was assigned to the 14th ACR from June 1966 to December 1968 at the age of 17. Looking back like many do they were some of the best times of my life. It was an honor to have served with one of the best, Gaither Deitz - Wilmington, N.C.

Thanks to all that donated and worked toward our 2009 Cold War Monument. The monument dedication took place 25 June 2009 at our former McPheeters Kaserne. This monument idea was something I spearheaded in June 2005 after visiting the Kaserne with my family. After 4 years of hard work the dedication was a dream come true. My sincere thanks to you all. A special thanks to Thomas Schossow of Bad Hersfeld, Frau Renate Stieber of Fulda, Germany, 14th retired Master Sergeant John Hathcock SF, Col. Hans Duerr, LTC Bill Wray, W3 Everett Tracy and 11th LT Steve Lungstrum.
